Welcome to the first (and hopefully not only) edition of Must Read Monday. On Mondays I will spotlight some new and/or upcoming releases I am looking forward to. The lists will include all genres I like to read, everything from picture books to comics, children’s lit to adult fiction!

This week I am featuring a YA title from Sharon Cameron and a mystery from Kimberly McCreight:

Rook by Sharon Cameron
Expected publication: April 28, 2015 by Scholastic Press
A retelling of The Scarlet Pimpernel, this YA title is described as combining elements of science fiction and dystopia. I am not normally one for dystopic fiction…however, I was taken with Cameron’s gothic/steampunk YA debut A Dark Unwinding and the description for Rook sounds so very intriguing, so…yes! I would like to check this title out!

Where They Found Her by Kimberly McCreight
Expected publication: April 14, 2015 by Harper
I quite enjoyed McCreight’s debut thriller Reconstructing Amelia, so I am looking to dig into the author’s second novel. This one sounds like an intriguing, multi-narrative suspense story- and darker and more twisted than the author’s debut.
